Swix HS8 Red -4°C/+4°C Ski Wax - 60g
Engineered for transitional snow conditions around the freezing point, this high-speed fluor-free hydrocarbon glide wax delivers superior speed and water repellency in temperatures ranging from -4°C to +4°C (25°F to 39°F). Its specialized mid-soft formulation optimizes base lubrication in high-humidity snowpack, wet natural snow, and damp artificial surfaces. Serving as an essential crossover wax, it performs reliably as a standalone race wax, a high-efficiency training glider, or a base preparation layer prior to applying liquid topcoats.
Designed for hot-wax application using a dedicated waxing iron set to a recommended temperature of 130°C (266°F), the solid block melts smoothly to ensure complete saturation of sintered base structures. A uniform iron pass rate of 8 to 10 seconds per ski facilitates deep base penetration without subjecting base materials to excessive heat stress. Allowing the wax to cool completely before scraping and brushing creates a low-drag, hydrophobic surface designed to reduce suction in wet snow conditions.
